Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how NOKO Swipe (the “App”) and the App’s official website (the “Website”) handle user information. Please review this Policy before using the App. For registration for Android release notifications on the Website, see 13. Android release-notification registration.

This English version is a translation of the Japanese プライバシーポリシー. If there is any inconsistency between the two, the Japanese version prevails.

1. Operator and contact

Contact for questions about the App: kaki.15.gmme@gmail.com

2. Handling of photos and videos

  • In the App, displaying photos and videos, ordering them, and managing deletion candidates take place, in principle, on your device.
  • The App does not upload photos or videos themselves to the NOKO Swipe operator’s servers.
  • The App does not send photos or videos themselves, file names, photo URIs, individual asset IDs, or the contents of individual photos to external parties for advertising delivery, advertising optimization, or analytics.
  • Swiping left (or an equivalent action) alone does not delete a photo or video. The item is kept as a deletion candidate; actual deletion happens only after you review your deletion candidates and, where required, go through the operating system’s deletion confirmation.
  • The App handles only the photos and videos you have allowed it to access.

3. Information stored on your device

To provide its features, the App may store in-app usage state such as the following in your device’s local storage.

  • Review progress, decision history, and deletion candidates
  • Remaining amounts and grant status of the free allowance and the first-time free Pro experience
  • On-device caches of billing status, such as results of purchase and entitlement synchronization
  • On-device aggregate information used for monetization decisions (for example, usage categories, library-size categories, and media-load categories)
  • Identifiers needed to schedule notifications and information about settings (where applicable)

This data may be lost if you delete the App, reset your operating system, or your device fails.

4. Third-party services currently used

To provide and operate its features, the App may use third-party services such as the following.

Billing and entitlement checks:

  • Apple App Store / StoreKit (iOS)
  • Google Play / Google Play Billing (Android)
  • RevenueCat

Advertising:

  • Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)
  • Google User Messaging Platform (presenting consent and privacy choices in applicable regions)

Analytics and configuration delivery:

  • Firebase Analytics
  • Firebase Remote Config

These services process information to the extent necessary for their respective purposes. Please also review each service’s privacy policy and terms. For Google’s handling of information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s explanation of advertising.

Through Firebase Analytics, the App may collect anonymous, aggregate events to improve and analyze the App and to understand monetization. Examples include App usage; the start and completion of a review session; in-session interaction events (whether you chose “keep”, “deletion candidate”, or “skip”, whether you undid or changed a decision, and the number of decisions in that session); reaching decision-count milestones (10, 25, 50, and 100 decisions); reaching the result screen and the breakdown of decision counts in that session; paywall displays and interactions; the start and completion of the first-time free Pro experience; purchase and restore actions and their results (including the selected plan and product identifier); ad displays and interactions; monetization-decision categories; and ad-revenue events. Where such information is sent, it is limited to information that is difficult to use to identify individuals, such as decision types and counts, reason categories, and bucketed values. The App does not send raw values such as photos or videos themselves, file names, photo URIs, individual asset IDs, the contents of individual photos, individual timestamps, exact library counts, or exact media sizes.

Through the way Firebase Analytics works, Google may process information such as an identifier for the App instance, device and operating-system type, App version, and approximate region.

The Website plans to measure page views and button interactions using Google Analytics 4 (GA4). The measured items, and the fact that email addresses are not sent, are described in 13. Android release-notification registration.

5. Information that may be processed in connection with purchases

If you use paid plans or purchase features, the following information may be processed (including via the stores and RevenueCat).

  • Purchased products
  • Purchase and subscription status
  • Transaction information such as purchase date and time
  • Purchase information issued by Apple or Google
  • Technical information needed for billing and entitlement checks, such as device type and OS

The NOKO Swipe operator does not directly obtain or store credit card numbers or other payment-method details. Payment information is handled according to the systems of each store and payment platform.

6. Notifications

The App may use local notifications, such as reminders to resume organizing. Where notifications are used, the App may request notification permission through the operating system. You can change this permission in your device settings. Photos and videos themselves are not sent externally for notifications.

7. Advertising

To provide the App free of charge and to operate it, the App may display ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob).

Through the Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google may process information such as the following for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement. The information collected and processed may vary depending on your usage environment, region, consent status, device settings, Google service settings, and other factors.

  • IP address
  • Identifiers associated with the device or app
  • Information about ad displays and interactions
  • Information about app interactions
  • Diagnostic and performance information
  • Other information the Google Mobile Ads SDK requires to provide ads

NOKO Swipe does not send photos or videos themselves, file names, photo URIs, individual asset IDs, or the contents of individual photos to the Google Mobile Ads SDK for ad delivery or ad optimization. Decisions for monetization (for example, categories based on usage or media load) are made using on-device aggregate information wherever possible. When information is sent to external analytics, it is limited to reason categories and bucketed values.

In applicable regions, the App may provide consent and privacy choices regarding ads through Google User Messaging Platform or similar tools. Where applicable, you may be able to reopen “Ad privacy settings” from the App’s settings. Even if you decline consent, limited ads, non-personalized ads, or similar ads may be provided within the scope of applicable law, Google’s policies, and technical conditions.

For details on how Google handles information, see official pages such as Google’s Privacy Policy.

8. Photo access permission

The App asks for permission to access photos and videos. The scope of access (full, or partial such as limited access) follows the operating system’s mechanism. You can change the permission in your device settings. If access is limited, the items that can be displayed and organized are limited to that scope.

9. Provision to and sale to third parties

The operator does not provide photos or videos themselves to third parties, and does not sell users’ personal information to third parties. Except where there is a legitimate reason, such as a disclosure request based on law, on-device organizing data is not sold or transferred externally.

If you use a paid plan, the systems provided by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and others are used for payment and entitlement checks. Handling of information in that case is also subject to each service’s policies.

10. Retention and deletion

App data stored on your device can be deleted by uninstalling the App or using operating system functions. Photos and videos themselves are deleted only after your confirmation and the operating system’s deletion process. Whether data is backed up to the cloud or synced to other devices depends on your operating system and settings.

11. Security

Considering the nature of the App (including its design of not sending photos or videos themselves to the operator’s servers), the operator makes reasonable efforts to protect information. However, please understand that the internet and device environments are not absolutely secure, and that data may be lost or viewed by third parties due to device loss, theft, unauthorized access, or similar events.

12. Children’s privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, please contact us.

13. Android release-notification registration

To announce the release of the Android version, the Website accepts optional registration of email addresses. This registration is for Android release notifications only; email addresses are not used for iPhone-related announcements.

Information collected:

  • Email address (required). When stored, the value with leading and trailing spaces removed and that value converted to lowercase are recorded.
  • Location of the registration form (top or bottom of the page)
  • Information about the referral source (UTM parameters included in the URL used to visit the Website: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content; only if present. Within the same browser session, the first values received are retained.)
  • An identifier indicating the version of this Policy at the time of registration
  • Registration date and time (the document creation time recorded by Cloud Firestore; the form does not send an arbitrary date and time)

Purposes of use:

  • Email addresses collected are used only for Android release notifications.
  • They are not used to send advertising or promotional email other than the Android release notification.
  • Form location and referral-source information are used only in aggregate to improve how announcements are made.

Storage:

  • Registration information is stored in Firebase (Cloud Firestore), provided by Google LLC, and is managed with settings that do not allow it to be read from the Website.
  • If the same email address is registered more than once, notifications are consolidated into one message.
  • Except as required by law, registration information is not sold or provided to third parties.

Outsourcing:

  • An email delivery provider may be used to send the Android release notification. In that case, email addresses are entrusted to the provider to the extent necessary for delivery.

Website analytics (planned):

  • The Website plans to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure events such as page views, moving to the App Store, interactions with the Android release-notification form, and registration success, duplicate registration, and failure.
  • Even after measurement begins, email addresses, lowercase-normalized email addresses, hashes of either, and Firestore document IDs are not sent to GA4.
  • Events may include the form location (top or bottom of the page) and non-identifying referral-source categories.

Retention period and deletion:

  • Registration information will be deleted within a reasonable period once the Android release notification has been completed and it is no longer necessary to retain it.

Unsubscribing and deletion requests:

  • To stop notifications, request deletion of registration information, or make other inquiries, please contact the email address below. Emails sent through a delivery provider will also include instructions for unsubscribing.
  • Contact: kaki.15.gmme@gmail.com

14. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated as necessary. If there are important changes, we will notify you by appropriate means, such as updating this page. If you continue to use the App after a change, you may be deemed to have agreed to the updated Policy.
